22 Last month we had the chance to embark on a life-changing journey as part of an exchange programme with Sevenoaks School. This school is one of the oldest in England, having a fascinating history spanning almost 600 years. What amazed us the most, however, was the standard of facilities the school offered the alumni. Sevenoaks School is nothing short of being a university campus, with multiple buildings, each one of them dedicated to a specific subject. It also has an extensive range of artistic facilities, pitches for football, rugby, hockey, basketball and much more. From teachers to pupils, we got to meet many fascinating people. Additionally, due to the school being highly regarded internationally, we were able to forge bonds with people from all over the world. Naturally, this broadens our horizons and enables us to see how the world today is an interconnected community. Another key feature of the programme, provided us with the opportunity of seeing different parts of the south-east of INTERCAMBIOS LINGÜÍSTICOS SEVENOAKS EXCHANGE Ángel Baltar y Lucas Fernández 1º de Bachillerato England (Kent), which most of us had not visited before. It was wonderful to tour the home of the Church of England, Canterbury, and the glamorous town of Tunbridge Wells. However, some of the best aspects of the exchange were the two day trips to London. From Buckingham Palace to the Houses of Parliament, walking through the capital’s streets was a marvellous adventure. We also had the chance to visit the British Museum and attend a matinee performance of Mamma Mia. We strongly recommend this exchange to everyone that has the opportunity to take part in it. Not only will you improve your English and make new friends, but you will also get to see some fabulous locations and have fun with your own school mates. EXTENSIÓN EDUCATIVA 02
