We first visited our fellow colleagues in England. We were very excited and nervous and could not wait a moment longer to get started and get the coach to go to the airport at La Coruña. We found the journey so tiring that these feelings ebbed somewhat along with our energy. So when we finally arrived at Marlborough we were worn out.
However, we soon bucked up. While we were at Marlborough we attended classes with our exchanges (they only have three subjects), we ate with them, and spent much of the day with them but, we also wanted to be together and discuss all the things that had happened throughout the day with the other Spaniards.
The girls were sleeping together in one house with the teacher that went along with us to the exchange, and the boys were separated in certain houses situated in the College’s grounds. Over the weekend some of us went to their own exchange’s home and others stayed in Marlborough and visited London on Sunday.
This was a great trip as we not only got to know the English education system and culture in general but also because we met new people that for most of us have become part of our lives as more than exchanges, but as great friends.
In Spain the English were with us most of the day, although they were here just for one week from Sunday to Sunday. They took part in many activities related with Spanish and Galician culture, and went on two trips, one to Ourense and the other to La Coruña. We spent the afternoons in the old town chatting and laughing with each other, having a good time and developing our friendships.
In short, this exchange was a marvellous experience all round. Not only for the English but for us too, mostly because of how wonderful these people were during this exchange.
We know that it is very hard for these friendships to last, but I am sure that in the future, when we look back, we will see that these friendships left a mark on our lives from the moment we met in that huge and daunting dining hall last November.
We heartily recommend this College as a great place for an exchange to other students at our school.

Aunque parezca que este intercambio pueda resumirse con otra cariñosa despedida, realmente es mucho más que eso. Todo lo que hemos compartido juntos y todas esas amistades que se forman son sólo la punta del iceberg en cuanto a lo que este intercambio ha significado para nosotros, no sólo en la mejora de nuestro inglés sino también a la hora de desarrollar aún más nuestras vidas.
Primero visitamos a nuestros colegas en Inglaterra. Estábamos muy emocionados y nerviosos, no podíamos esperar más para empezar y obtener el autobús para ir al aeropuerto de A Coruña. Encontramos el viaje tan agotador que estos sentimientos menguaron a la par que nuestra energía. Así que cuando, finalmente, llegamos a Marlborough estábamos agotados.
Sin embargo, pronto recuperamos la ilusión. Mientras estuvimos en Marlborough asistimos a clases con nuestros compañeros (sólo tienen tres asignaturas), comimos con ellos, y pasamos gran parte del día con ellos, aunque también queríamos estar juntos y hablar de todas esas cosas que habían sucedido a lo largo del día con los otros españoles.
Las niñas estaban durmiendo juntas en una casa con la profesora que fue con nosotros de intercambio y los chicos se separaron en varias casas situadas en los terrenos del campus. El fin de semana algunos de nosotros fuimos a casa de nuestros compañeros y mientras que otros se quedaron en Marlborough y visitaron Londres el domingo.
Fue un gran viaje. No sólo nos dieron a conocer el sistema de educación Inglés y la cultura en general, sino también porque nos encontramos con gente nueva que, para la mayoría de nosotros, han pasado a formar parte de nuestras vidas como algo más que compañeros de intercambio, sino como grandes amigos.
En España los ingleses estaban con nosotros la mayor parte del día, a pesar de que estuvieron aquí sólo una semana, de domingo a domingo. Tomaron parte en muchas actividades relacionadas con la cultura española y gallega. Durante su estancia hicieron dos viajes, uno a Ourense y en el otro visitaron A Coruña. Pasamos las tardes en el casco antiguo charlando y riendo entre nosotros, disfrutando de un tiempo juntos y fortaleciendo nuestras amistades.
En resumen, este intercambio fue una experiencia maravillosa en general. No sólo para perfeccionar nuestro inglés, sino también para nosotros, sobre todo gracias a lo maravillosos resultaron ser nuestros colegas de intercambio.
Sabemos que es muy difícil que estas amistades perduren, pero estoy seguro de que en el futuro, cuando miremos hacia atrás, veremos que estas amistades dejaron una impronta en nuestra vida desde el momento en que nos encontramos en ese enorme e intimidante comedor el noviembre pasado.
A nuestros compañeros, que tendrán la oportunidad en los próximos años, les recomendamos encarecidamente participar en el intercambio con este colegio.
